MANAKAU.

A meeting of the executive committee of the Manakau Patriotic Society was held on Wednesday night. Present: Messrs Howard Andrew (in the chair), Blair, Bramley, Clifford, L. Atkins, (acting-secretary), Mrs Bramley and Miss Marshall. Apologies owing to absence were received from Messrs C. Nees (secretary) and Dalzell. '

It was agreed to discuss the matter further at a public meeting; in the meantime the secretary to write to various monumental masons for quotations.
