TE HORO (3) V. OTAKI (1). The championship hockey match, played at, To Horo on Wednesday be- * tween the local team and Otaki, resulted in a well-merited win for To Horo, while Otaki well deserved their beating. Otaki, on the I other hand, failed to realise they were t playing hockey, and repeatedly made | mis hits or failed to stop the ball, no matter how slowly it. came to them. The backs wore of no support to the j forwards, while the latter lost opporj (unities by offside play. To Horo put. j ginger into their work throughout, kept I their positions, and once in the. circle worked even harder. Hi the first spell two goals were registered, and early in the second spell u_ third was scored, and thus Otaki were up against the odds. They made attempts to even ’ | matters, but l’e Horo continued a solid combination, and only once —a fine shot by Guldens —was the net located. Fitzgerald. Wind ley, and Allen scored splendid goals for the winners. Messrs H. Small and 11. Nicolson were* referees. TAINUI (2) V. Y.M.C.A. (0). Iti the match Tainui v.
