Supper was provided by the ladies and altogether a very pleasant evening was spent. The following officers of the branch wore elected: —President, Mr Les. Atkins; vice-president s. Messrs W. Dalzell and C. Cotter; lion, secretary, At 1 J. Blair; committee, Messrs Bramley. Dug. Robinson, Howard Andrew, Les. Stujdes, and officers c-x officio. It was the wish of the committee that Mr Andrew be elected president, but Mr Andrew was unable to accede to the request owing to ill-health.

It was decided to hold the first meeting of the branch on Thursday next, in the schoolroom. There will be boxing from 7 to S under Mr Miles, after which Mr Les. Atkins will introduce the subject, “Should bachelors be taxed?” A general discussion will follow.

Friday’s meeting was a very hearty one, and there is every prospect of the Y.M.C.A. getting a good start in Manakau. It is a project that deserves the hearty support of all.
