OBITUARY.
MISS RUTH SWABEY. It is with the deepest regret that w« have to record the death of Miss Euth Swabey, third daughter of Mr and Mrs C. V. Swabey, of Otaki, which occurred at her home with tragic suddenness in the very early hours of Monday morning. Miss Euth, who was a picture of health and strength, was at school on Thursday last, but took suddenly ill. Influenza • and pneumonia followed quickly, with heart trouble, and despite all that could be done she passed away as beforo stated. Miss Euth .Swabey was a girl of great promise—a bonny, winsome, healthy looking girl, whom it was impossible, to know without loving, and a warm favourite with young and old. Her sudden death has come as a great blow, and tho deepest sympathy is felt with tho sorrowing parents and relatives. Euth Swabey' was the third daughter of Mr and Mrs Swabey—one of a family of six—and was 13J years of age. The funeral took place yesterday, the remains being interred in tho Native Mission cemetery.
The servico was conducted by the Ucv. G. F. I'etrie, M.A. Among those present at the funeral was a band of deceased's schoolmates (Otaki Statu school), among whom Kuth Swabey was a warm favourite.
A memorial service will be held nt the Anglican Church on Sunday morn-
