Bia'Ti Kini died at Paketcraki (Dunodin) on Peace night, aged 109. Messrs Geo. and Jack D'Ath, of Manakau, have left for a visit to Christchurch. Among those returning by the Gieifscn, due at Wellington on August loth, is Private F. A. Laugcsen, of Otaki. Among the soldiers to return by the Maranva was Lance-Corx>oral Geo. Glackcn, of Weraroa, and formerly of Uautere. Mr nanita Hcnare, a well-known 1 Levin Native, died at Parewanui last week. The body was taken to Koputaroad for burial. The change will take effect as from the end of the present month. arrives. The death occurred at Carterton on Saturday of Mr John Thomas Siraw'bridge, third son of Mr and Mrs Tho*. Srrawbridge, of Otaki. Deceased ira* following his employment oe Wedneaday last, when he suffered an attack of pleurisy, and passed away.. Mr Nicholls, who has been connected with the staff of the Bank of New Zo»land at Otaki for tho past sine months, has received notice' of transfer to Opunake. During his stay here Mr Nicholls has always been courteous, efficient and obliging, and has made many friends who will regret to learu of his projected departure. Prior to taking up his new position he will indulgo in a month's well-deserved furlough. Mr J. E. Malcolm, of Westport, fills the vacancy in Otaki.
