There is still a shortage of butter for local requirements in various parts of the Dominion, and in Wellington some diflieulty is being experienced by distributors in keeping their clients supplied. However, in many districts the cows are again coming' into profit, and it is hoped that the position will presently be relieved. Advices by mail from Canada with respect to butter -how that the French Government has placed with the United States Government an order for 2,000,000 pounds of tinned butter, also that America is purchasing in bond in Canada shipments of daiiy produce for export to Scandinavia and elsewhere in Eurojie.
