OTAKI FIRE BRIGADE.
The monthly meeting of tho Otaki Fire Brigade .was held on AVednesday night, Captain AA 7 . Bassett presiding. The attendance was fair , The secretary reported that he had received the Town Board’s grant of £25, while nearly £IG had been raised by tho recent picture entertainment. It was decided to write and heartily thank Mr McMillan for his generosity' in supplying the picture and theatre free of all cost, and also to thank others who helped. A donation of £1 Is was also received from Mr C. Kilsby, and his generosity was noted. It was stated that Master Leo. Bowden had won first prize for j selling the most tickets (£4 3s) for the j recent entertainment. It was agreed to have the engine in the procession on" Peace Day.
Mr ,T. Gillespie was admitted as a member of the Brigade, and Messrs A. It. Rudkin and Ron Satheriey proposed. It was decided to pay Mr St. George £25, half of cost of building, and to pay other minor accounts.
