FLAMILLS DISPUTE.

Palmerston North, June 24. No settlement has yet been made in the flaxmills dispute. The Floxmillcrs’ Association passed the following motion:—“That as it appears impossible to meet tho union under conditions acceptable to individual members of the Association, the union be informed that the Association will offer work on certain prices which are the highest rates members of the Association in the present state of the industry are prepared to pay, and that warrant the resuming of operations.” The union will also be informed that the only other solution is that tho matter be referred to the Arbitration Court.

A special meeting of the union rejected the scale of wages offered, and also instructed the secretary to draw up a statement of the inconsistent attitude of tho Association towards one of the union’s representatives and one of its own members; also to advise flaxworkers not to engage themselves under 14s a day
