GRAZING ON ROADS.
To the Editor. - S; r _l sec that there are plenty of milk carts to sell milk, so there cannot be the shortage that some people would make out. The local people are herdin"- cows on the new county road, as iar as Eangiuru. and if you stay from sun- - rise to sunset the sun would not be set at eight o'clock in the winter time. In | the next place, one acre is not enough for a" cow; it requires four acres. The people who have not feed in their own , paddocks should not keep cows. It they think they can paddock upon our roads they are mistaken. It would be much cheaper to buy the milk than to run the cows upon the road. In my opiniou. a week's license to allow eons to graze on our roads would-con\ince * any reasonable man that the innovation would not be conducive to the welfare of the inhabitants, more especially where our women and children are concerned. In conclusion, I am going to hope that-the Town Board will assist me in executing my duty while I have the honour of holding the position I now hold. —I am. etc., i GEORGE GALLAGHER.
