WAIHOANGA NOTES.

(From Our Own Correspondent). The third gf a scries of euchre parties in aid of the school piano fund was held on Friday evening last, and the committee were again favoured with a perfect night. Owing to this fact several people from Te Horo and Otaki graced the function with their presence. Prizes were won as follows: First gentleman's, Mr Briggs; first lady's, Miss Ednied; -booby (gentleman), Mr G. Hayward; (lady), Mrs Danean. After a sumptuous supper, dancing was indulged m to excellent music supplied by Mr A. A. Butt, supplemented in a highly efficient manner by'Mr G. Day.

Last Friday evening ■ Mrs Russling gave a birthday party, and many neighbours and friends assembled to wish this popular and gracious lady ;:ur,y happy returns of the day. Oeea- :•!<':: was also taken to meet the latest acquisition to the district in the person of Mr and Mrs Sim. After an evening of fun and frolic, games, music, and a delicious supper, the gathering dispersed, hearty cheers re-echoing round the hills after these had been given.

The Hector track is progressing most favourably. a considerable portion having been done, in addition to which a substantial slab whare has been built at the water-hole. This has been most aptly called the "Old Men's Home." By the end of the present week the "kiosk" on Tiro Tiro will be commenced.
