SPIERS BROS.’ CLEARING- SALE.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report having conducted a clearing sale on account ol Messrs Spiers Bros, at the farm, Tc Horo, on Monday, 9th June. There was a good attendance of buyers, aiffl competition was keen throughout the sale, and the ncsults proved most satisfactory to the vendors. Cows just calved sold from £ls to £2l. springing cows £l4 5s to £lB 10s, July ealycrs £l4 10s, September culvers £l3 to £l9 10s, October calvers £lO 10s to £ls, several cows due December and January sold at £6 10s to £7 15s. Barring these the balance of herd made the good average of £l4 7s fid. Two and a half-year spring calving heifers £S 10s j to £lO 7s, 20 months ditto £5 Is to £8 j 17s, empty store cows and heifers £4 19s, Jersey bulls £5 to £fi, 21 -year mixcoloured steers £7 6s, 18-months ditto £4 ss, weaner ditto 30s, yearling empty
heifers £4 .10s, good Jersey cross weaner lieifcrs £4, others ISs to 31s, sows with litters £5 10s to £7 2s fid, good store pigs 27s to 355, aged springcart -geldings £lfi to £2fi, 7-year hack £9, light unbroken horses £2 to £7.

At the Addington market there were fair yardings of stores, and prices generally for all classes of sheep and prime cattle were firmer, and there was a bettor demand for store sheep and for store pig?. There was a fair inquiry for dairy cows, but the quality of the best was only medium. Store pigs sold better, and vealers were easier owing to there being a large entry of large calves.
Store Sheep.—Two-tooth ewes to 24s Id, two and four-tooth ewes- 22s fid, four and six-tooth owes- 13s (id to 27s lyd, four, six and eight-tooth ewes 14s fid to 2Ss, sound and failing mouth ewes 17s fid to 19s (id, two-tooth wethers 21s to 24s I’d, two and four-tooth wethers lfis fid to 25s fid, four and six-tooth wethers 22s lOd to 255, six-tooth wethers 27s Sd, ewe lambs lfis to 22s 3d, wether lambs 12s to 18s (id, mixed sex lambs 11s Id to 19s.
Fat Lambs. —Extra prime to 33s fid, priinc 27s to 30s, medium 22s (id to 2(>s (id, lighter lfis 3d to 225. Fat Sheep.—Extra prime wethers to 495, prime wethers 36s to 45s 3d, medium wethers 30s to 35s (id, lighter wethers 48s (id, prime ewes 32s fid to 3Ss, medium ewes 26s to 325, lighter owes 20s to 25s fid. Fat Cattle. —Extra prime steers to £24, prime steers £l4 2s fid to £2O, ordinary steers £S 10s to £l4, prime heifers £7 2s fid to £9 10s, prime cows £lO 2.- fid to £ls 2s fid, ordinary cows D 5 15s to £9 15s.
Store Cattle. —Two-year steers £6 10s, dry cows £4 to £S, hulls'£s to £l3 10s, dairy cows £lO to £l7 16s.
