HOCKEY.
ASSOCIATION MEETING. A meeting of tho Otaki Hockey Association was held on Friday night, when tho following delegates were present: —Messrs R. Satherlcy and A. Adsett (Otaki), M. Fitzgerald and V. Allen. (Te Horo), August Wallace and P. Patching (Tainui).
The following officers were elected: —- Patron, Rev. G. C. Blathwayt; president, Mr Byron Brown; vice-presidents, Messrs C. J. Spiers, Harold Small, and H. Nieolson; management committee, Messrs H. Nieois’on, W. Jamieson, A. Adsett, and L. Gritnth; secretary and treasurer, Mr R. Satherlcy; selection committee, captain of each club.
. It was decided to open tho season on Wednesday next with a five-aside tournament, and to start the championship fixtures on June 11th. An application for Otaki to change its colours to black with gold hoops was granted.
It was reported that the Association had a credit balance of'£l 3s Cd. Fixtures for the first round were drawn up as follows: — Juno 11: Otaki v. Tc Horo, at Otaki;
Tainui a bye. June IS: Tainui v. Te Horo, at Otaki;
Otaki a bye. June 25: Otaki v. Tainui, at Otaki; Te Horo a bye.
We remind our hockey friends and enthusiasts of the five-asido tournament to bo held on Wednesday next on the Otaki Domain, and for the sake of a popular sport we hopo to sec not only a large attendance of players, but also of spectators. Tho games botween the various clubs should bo interesting, and therefore a good afternoon sport provided. f A meeting of hockey enthusiasts will be held in Bovin this week, when it is hopod to laiso two, perhaps three, teams. For the past season or so Bovin has been las in respect to hockey, but there is no reason why some good teams should not take the field.
