WEDDING.
CRAMPTON—BARKER
A wedding of considerable interest to Gorge settlers took place on Thursday, May Ist, at the Catholic Presbytery, Christchurch, when Miss Amelia Barker, eldest daughter of Mr Louis Barker, of Cheviot, and also Waihoanga; was united in the holy bonds of matrimony to Mr Edgar Crampton, second son of Mr James Crampton, who is also well and favourably known in both Cheviot and Waihoanga. The Rev Dr Kennedy officiated.' The bride wore a brown velour costume and lovely hat to match. Miss Kathleen Barker was bridesmaid, and wore a fawn coloured coat frock and hat of same shade. Mr Gerald Crampton was best man. The bride's mother Was in a purple costume and hat. Tho reception took place at the Cadcna Tea-rooms, about forty guests Being present. The happy couple received many costly and useful presents. The bridegroom's present to tho bride was a handsome gold-mount-ed leather handbag, and to the bridesmaid a gold brooch set with pearls. The bride's gift to the bridegroom was a .suedo pocket-book, etc. The happy pair subsequently motored "to Akaroa, where the honeymoon will bo spent, after which they'will take up their residence at AYaihonnga, where tlicy can be assured of a hearty welcome.
