The friends of Mrs Mcßeatk will regert to learn that she entered the Otaki Hospital yesterday for medical treatment.

MiX Meßougaii, who has been" secretary of the Te Horo Co-operative Dairy Co. for some years, has deeided to join with hi* sons in a general business -on the Msrmwaiu line.

Nurse Te Au, weH-known loe§Hy, has decided to join the Chautauqua movement, and -will ■ 'shortly go on a tour of America. Miss te An-was .for some time a leading, vocalist of this district. No doubt she will be* well re-ceive-i wherever she appears.

At *ho soldiers' welcome at Manakau last night, reference was made to the fact that. Private G. D'Atk, of Manakau, was lying seriously ill at Trentham hospital, and the meeting passed a motion of sympathy, and expressing a wish" for his speedy recovery.

Lieut. Chas. Wildsmith, son of Mr and Mrs C. Wildsmith, oi Te Horo, is still with the E.A.F., and judging by the tone of his letters is enjoying life immensely. Ho has made some splendid flights, and recently tried a German machine, of which' he speaks highly. At the time of writing he was in excellent health, and expected to return to New Zealand at no distant date.
