Mr Chas. Better, an old resident of Levin, died yesterday, at the advanced age of 83 yean. .
Mrs Ben Heap, who has been in indifferent health for some time past, has again entered the Otaki Hospital for a further operation. Mr W. Tompsitt, who has been confined to his bed for some days, is now making good progress and is able to take outdoor exercise.
Major Addington has been added to the Mount Hector Track Committee, and is already proving. a keen enthusiast.

Aniong those recently returned from Egypt are Privates Len. Murray and Arthur Holder, both of whom loft early in the campaign.
