- HOROAVHENUA R.C. Tli'e 'annual general meeting of tlie Horowlienua Racing Club was held on Friday night, Mr J. MeLcavey (president) presiding, ft was reported that the club had a credit balance of £32 3s Jd; It was agreed to offer the Park Co. ;4500 for the property, ' The following officers were elected: — Patron, Sir AV. H. Field, M.P.; president, i£r J. MeLcavey; vice-presidents, Messrs Bleukliorn, T. Bevan, B. Ling, Easton, W. Toinpsitt, McDonald, Winiata, Kebbell and Sticklers; secretary. Mr F Nicholson; treasurer, Mr AV. Bull; starter, Mr A. Keith; liandicnppcr, Mr J. I-lonrys; clerk of course, Mr M. Ryder. New members proposed were: Messrs J. Howell, J. Adams, D. Grant, R. Kgahi, Miliaka, J. H. Murray, and A. Dempsey.
The many friends of Mr B. Short, the well-known breeder and. racehorse owner, will be pleased to learn that his health has greatly improved and that he has been able to return to his farm near Fcjlding. t _
