The recant Wairarapa race meeting resulted in a loss of £l2O. The next race meetings are fixed for New leaT and Easter.
IV. Ayre, who recently returned from the front, has again "taken to the pigskin,' 1 and at the Rnngitikei meeting rode Some Girl. Although ho rode . with his old dash he failed to salute the judge. The scarcity of horsemen was very pronounced at the Westport Club's meeting on Saturday, only five being in attendance. In each event horses had to bo scratched through the inability to procure riders, and in ono evont Winning Number carried 261 b and Slollymawk 231 b overweight.
