Members of the Hinemoa Masonic Lodge on Wednesday played a match with a quartette of local bowlers {also Masons) for the Sinico:c Challenge Cup. The visitors were represented by Kidlcy, Maplcek. Dement and Ramsey, while* Otaki players were St. George, Bills. Windier, and Satberley. The local players opened well, scoring 9-2 on the first six heads, but on the 10th bead were only one to the good, 11-10. After this, however, Otaki scored rapidly and ran out winner.- by 29-IS. Two friendly games were also played, when Otaki (Skc-ller, Canning, Collins, Kilmister; defeated Russell, George, Foster, and Gardner (Hinemoa), 26-27. In the second game, however, Hinemoa (Tin-ev. McCardle, Bussell, Hatch) beat A. Smith. Knight, Brandon, D. Noble (Otaki), 24-17. A match for the singles trophy was played between A. E. Anderson and MH. Ayre, the latter winning, after a fine came. IS-17. Anderson was 5-1 up on bis opooneut on the fifth head, ..but, Avre'sent up hot stuff, and "was 15-7 on the 12th head. Anderson, however, evened matters, and by some splendid rdsy made up nearly all the deficiency, losing by one only en the last head.
