PALMERSTON NORTH HOSPITAL BOARD.

The monthly mooting of tho Palmerston North Hospital Board was held yesterday. It was resolved to authorise Mr Nash to obtain the name.? of all epidemic workers, with the view to making awards, as recommended by the Inspec-tor-General of Hospitals. Tho tender of Hickmott and S.ons, Wellington, was accepted for the Martin memorial slabs. Tenders were received for the erection of the resident medical officer's residence, but as those far exceeded the architect’s estimates, the matter was left in tho chairman's hands, with power to act, provisionally. Tho question of erecting a maternity home was again mentioned by Mrs Crabb, who reported that she had interviewed the Minister, who declined to undertake the establishment of a, St. Helens hospital as suggested, but offered a subsidy for a maternity home, provided it was not erected in the hospital grounds. No action was taken.
