FINANCIAL RETURNS.

AJi INCREASE REPORTED. Wellington, March 11. The Hon. A. M. Myers states that the revenue for the eleven months ended February' shows an increase of £550,756over the corresponding period of last year. He said that this is highly satisfactory, considering that the payment of the income tax is later this year, aud this has led to a decrease in the revenue for the month of February ; of £617,415. For the twelve mouths ended February the revenue decreased by £125,707, ' which will be converted into a considerable increase during the current mouth, when the total income tax is paid. The expenditure out of ordinary revenue shows a considerable increase, di'c to the interest and sinking funds on Trar loans, soldiers' pensions, etc.: also a considerable increase in departmental expenditure due to the payment of an increased war bonus. The net increased expenditure for the eleven months is £3.246,099. Tha Public Works Fund shows £325.76-3 in hand.
