MEW ZEALAND PRISONERS

RESULTS OF MISSION TO GERMANY. (From Captain- Malcolm Ross, Special Correspondent with the - New Zealand Forces in the Field.) •The Medical Corps Mission that went to Baden did not find- any New Zealand-prisoners of war iri the part of Germany they travelled through, except. one,. Nimot. who, in June,, 1916, was declared a deserter by a Coyirt of Inquiry. Steps were taken ' with a view to his return, but I understand that a ruling has been given to the effect that prisoners of war wMo decline repatriation cannot be compelled to return. Further - correspondence is, however, taking place in regard to Nimot ’s position. The mission also failed to find any record of New Zealand prisoners who had died in the places visited.
