SPORTING.
One of , New Zealand’s., erstwhile leading horsemen, .Charles .Jenkins, has. been arrested at Bulls and committed to the Supreme Court at 'Wellington for sentence. The offence, to which he pleaded guilty, was breaking and-enter-, ing and the theft of about £2 in silver and 141 bof corned beef. He will probably be sentenced to-day* Mr D. B. Carrick, at . one time auctioneer.in this district, ,has been- appointed a member of the judicial committee of the Masterton Club. The treasurer of the Masterton Club reported to the meeting of stewards on Saturday that there was a credit balance of £483.13s lOd.
