CLEVER FORGERY.

I' PINK 10s NOTES. " , Wellington, February 27. A clover forgery of Bank of New Zealand pink ten-shilling notes has just been disco.vered. The forged notes are on pink coloured paper, but the 'printing has-a chocolate tinge, and is not nearly so clear as "the genuine 1 notes, and the paper is not watermarked. All forgeries which have come to light so far bear tho same number, 555,171, and purports to be signed by L. M. Little, with date June .Ist, 1917. The public can easily protect themselves by refusing to accept any pink Bank of New Zealand notes unless bearing a watermark, "Bank of New Zealand," which is readily ob : solvable on holding the note up to tlte light.
