OBITUARY.

MRS W. J. ROW. The death occurred at the Otaki Hospital last .night of Mrs Row, wife of Mr W. J. Row-, our highly-esteemed townsman, at the age of 49 years. The late Mrs Bow, who was of a most kindly disposition,' was beloved by all who knew her,'and .her death has caused a painful shock to her many relatives and friends. Of-late Mrs Row has" not enjoyed the best of health, but, nevertheless, has been bright and cheerful. On Friday she entered the Otaki Hospital for the-purpose of an operation, which was performed on Saturday by Drs. Huthwaite and Hardwiek Smith (Wellington). It was hoped the operation was satisfactory, and reports were cheerful, but, unfortunately, a change came over the deceased yesterday, and relatives were summoned to the bedside. Every thing possible was done, and despite the best of skill and attention Mrs Row passed quietly away shortly after nine, o'clock last evening. The. deceased, who will bo greatly missed, was the second daughter of the late Mr James Rickard, of Wellington, where she was born. When quite a girl she took up residence in Palmersl.on North, and also at Longburn, whero she was married many years ago. During her long stay in these places she made numerous friends, all of whom will regret to hear of her death. For the past seventeen years Mrs Row has lived at Otaki, where her quiet, unassuming nature has endeared her to all. Much sympathy is expressed for the bereaved relatives. Deceased,leaves a husband, a daughter (Miss Elsie Row) and a son (Willie) to mourn'their loss, A daughter (Mrs Harold Cockrell) died some time ago. There are also three sisters—Mrs W. Moffat t (Oroua Downs), Mrs -H. Bryant (Polmerston North), and -Miss Rickard (Palmerston Northland three brothers —Messrs James and -Albert Rickard (Palmerston North) and- Mr George, Rickard (Kilbirnie); The funeral will take place to-mor-row (Thursday) afternoon " at' ZA~>, when the body win be interred in the Otaki public cemetery.
