A NASTY ACCIDENT.

MOTOB COLLISION AT OHAU. A serious accident occurred at Ohau last night, when a motor car driven by a native, collided with a motor cycle and push bicycle. It- appears that Torn Gardener was riding on his motor bicycle, while Rangi Rausfield. mounted on a push bicycle, was being towed along by the motor bvko. AVhon the collision occurred the motor cycle was forced right under the motor car, and it was feared that Gardener was killed. However, though badly hurt, lie escaped miraculously. ILc was taken to the Otaki Hospital, where it was ascertained that he had sustained very bad cuts on his thigh and knee, and was generally" badly shaken up. His injuries, however, arc not serious. Raitsiield fortunately escaped with lessor injuries, his head being rather badly cut about. It is stated that none of the vehicles carried lights, though it was a moonlight night.
