Mr Newton King's Weekly Report. Cattle—At Stony River, on Wednesday, a fair lot of stock was yarded. Bidding was quiet and only a few pens of young stuff were sold at the hammer. After the sale, however, I succeeded iu placing nearly every line, only two or three pens of larger cattle going home. Weauer calves made 8s to 18s ; older do, 21s to 21s; yearlings

30s ; old cows and calve?;, 23.3; btoi-e cows, 80s; 12 to 15-mon hx suiters, 32s Gd ; springing heifers, MS 2s 6d. At Stratford, o 1 the same day, I held a sale of Mr Tvrell's dairy cows, &c. There was a good attendance, but owing to buyers' valm s not being in accord with she vendors' only a portion of the stock was sold. Cows made £3 5s to £G 10d ; weaner pigs, 3s 6d to 7s ; stores, 9s to 10s ; breeding sows, 27s Gd to £2 10s. Messrs Nolan, Tonka and Co. s Stock Report. Our usual fortnightly sale was held at Eltham on 25th inst. We had a good muster of stock, aud a good sale resulted. At Hawera, on 28th inst., the quantity advertised came forward. Bidding for most lines was brisk, prices for cattle being better than for some considerable time. We quote— At Eltham—Store cows, £2 17s to £3 3s ; fat and forward cows £3 9s to £3 15s ; fat cows, . £4; wcaners, 19s to 23s ; yearlings, 32s to 38s ; 2-year steers, £2 10s to £2 17s 6d springers, £4 to £4 10s.

At Hawera—Springing heifers, £3 10s to £4 5s ; fat cows, £3 12s Gd to £4 ; store cows, £2 19s 6d to £3 3s; fresh condition cows £3 7s 6J to £3 10s ; cows and calves, £3 5s to £3 12s 6d; weaners, 19s to 22s Gd; yearling steers, 80s to 38s; 18-month steers, £2 2s Gd to £2 10s ; 18-mouth to 2year steers, £2 10s to £3; 2 to 2|year steers. £3 10s 18-month to 2-year heifers, £2 to £2 2s Gd. SheepWoolly lambs, 3s to 3s 7d ; fat wethers 7s lid ; 2-tooth ewes. 5s 8d ; aged ewes, 3s to 4s 6d.
