Reduced Freight on Butter.
The following is an extract from a otter received by Mr Robbins, secretary of the National Dairy Association : I beg to inform you that the Commissioners have agreed to bring into operation for the ensuing season a rate of 40s per ton for lots of four ions and over in the same consignments from the Taranaki districts to Wellington. This rate will apply to cheese as well as to butter. (Signed) —Yours faithfully, W. Buxton, Traffic Manager.” This is a reduction •n former rates of 8s per ten on butter, and 16s per ton on cheese.
