CALF CLUB DAY AND SHOW There was a good attendance of parents and friends assembled at the Waimaua School last Friday afternoon in support of the calf club day'. The judges were Mr. S. Jurd, Mr. Drury, Mr. McGregor and Young Farmers’ judging Air. Dcs. Woolfield and Mr. W. Macdonald.
Air. R. Looney, in the absence of the chairman, congratulated the children on the good condition of their calves and the manner in which they were handled. The awards were as follows: Under It) years: Gordon Looney 1, Lionel Boynton 2, lan McConnell 3. Under 13 years: Alt Boynton 1, Reg. AlcConncll 2, Richard Henderson 3. Victory Cup: Gordon Looney, Robert Fleming Memorial L up: Gordon Looney (miniature for 1916). The display ot decorative work by the children was outstanding. The awards were as follows
Victorian posy, seniors: Annette Henderson I, Eleanor Crcwthcrs 2, Valerie Linwood 3,
Vase flowers, senior: Dora Wardlaw 1, Rebecca Boynton 2, Kchine Te Pari 3.
Over 13 years: Marlene Wardian' 1, John Boynton 2. Champion calf: Cordon Looney 1, Marlene Wardlaw 2, Alt Boynton 3. Best handled calf: Cordon Looney 1.

Mitchell and Mrs. McConnell snr. for acting as judges for the floral work. The serving of afternoon tea concluded an interesting day. HARVESTING IN FULL SW|NG Ensilage and hay-making in the Waimana and Nukuhou districts is in full progress at present. Some exceptionally good crops of ensilage arc being harvested.
