FORTNIGHTLY PIG SALE Messrs. Dalgety and Company Limited report having held their fortnightly ,pig sale on Monday when there was a large yarding of bacon, A medium yarding of store pigs and a small yarding of weaneis. Competition on baconer pigs still remains very keen while store and weaner pigs continue to sell at prices well in vendor’s favour. Top price of the sale was realised for a line of well finished baconers from •Mr, W. J . Thompson, Paerata, these realising £0 0s each. Realisations were:— Prime heavy- baconers, 6 guineas to £6 (is; heavy baconers, £5 10s to £6 3s; light baconers, £5 to J? 5 J4s; heavy choppers, £6 10s; medium pigs, £4 11s to £5 Is; slips, £2 14s to £3 Jss; good wcauci's, £2 is; small weaners 375.

There was steady competition for baconers and porkers that sold at late rates. Store pigs showed a rise on the previous sale, whilst slips and weaners sold readily on a par with recent' quotations. Medium heavy baconers, £6 to £0 6s; medium baconers, £5 13s to £5 16s ; light baconers, £5 5s to £5 8s; heavy porkers and buttermilk pigs, £4 18s to £5 6s; stores, £3 8s to £ 1 16s; slips, £2 16s to £3 Is; best weaners, to £2 2s; others, 13s; light choppers, £2 15s to £3 15s.
