LATE STANLEY MILLER s ENGLISH ' PAPER’S REPORT The following report of the untimely death of Mr. Stanley Millar, late of Opotiki, Whakatane and Tauranga, - which appeared in the Littlehampton Gazette, has been handed in to The ... The report .states : A tribute to an association of more than thirty years with the Scout movement, first in this country, and for the last quarter of a century in New Zealand was paid by the presence at the cremation service at Brighton on Tuesday (September 16) of Mr. Stanley Frederic Miller, son of Mr. F. G. Miller, of ■ Rondia, Broadmark-avenue, Rustington, My. W. J. Gencse, the Field Commissioner for Surrey and' Sussex, and of Mr. George Djabonor, a native scouter from the Gold Coast, who had met the deceased only a few weeks ago $t the recent jamboree in Paris.

Colonel C. C. R. Murphy, of Littlehampton, the Deputy County Commissioner for Sussex would also have been .present but for an important prior engagemet on Tuesday. The deceased had been taken ill during a holiday visit.yto his old home in this country, his.’ second in twenty-five years, anjl' he had passed away .in' Wortriiig Hospital last Friday at the comparatively early age of 44.

In addition to his business activities as a baker confectioner and caterer ,at Tauranga—ho was a member of the Master Baker Association in New Zealand—he had actively identified himself with the Scout movement over there, and was Assistant County Commissioner for the Sea Scouts in the Bay 'of Plenty, district as well as Chairman of the Scout . Association at Tauranga. Last July, at BuekiiigJtjun Palace, he had the honour of being presented to the King, who referred to his thirty years service in the Boy Scout movement. He had jjJso put in four years overseas service in the late war Avith' the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, in which he held the rank of Sergeant in the 2nd. Battalion of the New Zealand Regiment. Like his father, he was an active member of the Methodist Church, and the cremation service on Tuesday was conducted -by, the Rev.' R. J. Bradwoll, the MetHodist Minister at Littlehampton, who paid tribute to the deceased's work both here and in New Zealand.

Technicolour musical “This, Summer Is Yours” which will introduce the new singing sensation Mario Lanza, tonor, who has been acclaimed as “the greatest voice since Caruso.”
