TWO DANCING STARS INJURED "Two of Metro-Goldwyn'-Mayer’a top dancing stars have met with leg injuries recently that have .meant their having to forego leading roles in the big M..G.M. musical production, “Easter Parade”, Gene Kelly broke his ankle while rphcarsing a ’dance routine for the production at his home, and has been informed that he won’t be able to dance again for at least four months. His role in the production has now been assigned to Fred. Astaire. Cyd Gharisse injured her ankle also whilst rehearsing and will have her leg in plaster for some six weeks. Her role will be taken by attractive, dark-haired Ann Miller. “Easter Parade,” for which ■ Irving Berlin- has written the, musical score, also stars Judy Garland and Peter Lawford. “Age of Innocence” Soon to be Filmed. “Production Started on “The Big City” In a colourful set depicting New York’s East Bide, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer has started the filming of “The Big City”, with Margaret O’Brien, George Murphy, Danny Thomas and Karen Booth before the cameras. The film will also feature the famous concert star, Lotte Lehmann and the musical comedy star Betty Garrett. Iturbi on English. Concert Tour Leaving Hollywood on October 19, Jose Iturbi left for France after a one day stop over in New York. After a short season in Paris he flew to Ireland' where he appeared at the Theatre Royal, Dublin on November 10, and is at present touring the larger centres of England and Scotland.
