YOUNG MAN CHARGED BREAKING AND ENTERING -FORGERY Last week a 19-year-old labourer, Norman Twist, was committed to the Supreme Court for trial after appearing before Messrs. C. Pipe and W. Burrctt, .J.l’.s, in the Police Court in Opotiki on three charges. Detective T. Sneddon of Gisborne, prosecuted tor the police. Twist uas charged with breaking and entering the house of Norman Malcolm Clark at Waimana on August 15 and stealing two cheque forms valued at 4d. A ■‘second charge was that at' Waimana on August 15 he forged a cheque for £8 17s 6d, and, further, that he uttered that cheque at Opotiki on August 22. Evidence was given by four witnesses for the prosecution. A plea of not guilty on all charges was entered by Mr. East, who appeared for the accused.
