TRAGEDY AT WAIMANA
YOUNG. MAN’S DEATH FOUND HANGING 'A farm-hand, who last week appeared iij the Opotiki Police Court, and on a charge of breaking and entering was remanded to the Supreme Court in Gisborne for trial, was found hanging in the cow-shed of his employer at on Saturday inorning. The deceased was Norman Twist,.aged 19, a farmhand employed by Mr. Burnett, Waiinana. On Saturday morning Twist appeared to bq his usual self, and was given the day off by his employer. He said he was going to play tennis at- the neighbouring courts, and was last seen about It) a.m. Later in the morning he was found hanging in the cowshed on the property by Mr. Burnett’s son.
An inquest was opened in Wai maua on Saturday by the coroner, Mr. 0. Armstrong, Whakatane, and after evidence of identification had been given was adjourned sine die.
