COUPON SURRENDERS
TE ARAROA ECLIPSES TOLAGA RECORD A record that has undoubtedly not been eclipsed anywhere in the Dominion was put up recently by the Te Araroa. district when for the week 561 butter and 33,925 meat coupons were surrendered to the Te Araroa postmaster in the Eood-for-Britain campaign. There are only 152 householders in the district. Tolaga Bay’s record was fairly, comfortably beaten for a previous week. Opotiki has shown a considerable improvement in the past few weeks and the figures for the week in question were 173 butter coupons and 5317 meat coupons. Gisborne borough returns were 67 butter and 9557 meat coupon surrenders. Tolaga Bay was again prominent with 292 butter and 3398 meat coupons. Te Karaka was another district that did well in regard to both butter and meat coupoils.
