WEDDING

SECKER—COMISKEY On Saturday 18th. October, the Knox Presbyterian Church, Whakatane, was the scene of a pretty rainbow wedding u lien Colleen, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. Comiskey, Main ..-Rojxd, Whakatane, was united to Donald Leonard, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Seeker, of jL'lirioteliurch. The officiating minister . was the Rev. H. Bell. The church had been tastefully decorated with shades of junk ap-p.’c-b® ssom and stock, by Miss Shirley Comiskey, cousin of the bride. The bride, who entered the chilrch with her father, looked most charming in her bridal gown of ivory jaconne, cut on classical lines, fitting bodice, full bishop sleeves and long pointed cuffs. The full skirt falling away to a graceful train and the beautifully embroidered tulle veil, was held in place with a coronet of orange blossoms, and it formed a second dainty train. Her lovely trailing bouquet was of cream roses, carnations, and relieved with a touch of pale lavender lilac and maiden-hair fern.

The bride was attended by three bridesmaids and a little fiower girl. The bridesmaids were Miss Betty .Derccourt (Otorohanga), in pale lavender marquisette; Miss June Stevens (Waimami), pale lemon marquisette; Miss Margaret Terry (Edgeciifnbe), pale green Imarqujsctte. The frocks were made alike on slim lines, with matdhing sequimied basques, and full skirls trimmed with graceful flouncing and matching flowers. They wore shoulder length net veils, also sequimied, . and topknots of flowers to match. Their bouquets were of sweet .peas and carnations and fern.

The little flower-girl, Annette Ruff (Waimami), looked a picture in her pale pink crinolin frock of taffeta and net, and bonnet to match. She carried a silver basket of flowers in shades of pink. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr. Robin Seeker, as best man and Mr. M. Tyson and Mr. W. Rutherford as groomsmen.

The reception was held in the King, Street Hall and Mrs. T. ComisKey, assisted by • Mrs. L. A. Seeker, received the many guests some coming from Invercargill, Mokai, Auckland and Otorohanga. Mrs. Comiskey wore • a smart frock of black pin-tucked silk crepe, relieved jvith a shoulder spray of cyclamen * shaded flowers and a smart black hat was worn. Mrs. Seeker chose a frock of moss rose, silk crepe, with hat to tone and'iiavy accessories. The lovely three-tiered wedding cake held pride of place on the bridal table. The cake had been made by Mrs. Ruff senr. While the cake was being cut the best man read out a sheaf of telegrams, all conveying best wishes. The toast-master at the . reception was the Rev. Bell, and the usual toast list was duly honoured.

After the reception, guests were given a cordial invitation to the bride’s parents 1 home to, view the many beautiful and' useful gifts. Many cheques were also received The floral bouquets etc. were all made by Miss Percy of Taneatua. The bridal couple left later off a motoring honeymoon, the bride wearing a smart suit of royal blue wool, and a model hat of black with a red feather spray, and carried a red plastic hand-bag.

Mr. and Mrs. Seeker will make their home in Christchurch.
