DOUBLE-SHEARING OF STUD SHEEP

The stud Roiuney ewe hoggets at Massey Agricultural College were shorn in August, and it is proposed to shear them again after Christmas. This practice of a double shearing is becoming more popular with stud breeders, and it certainly prevents a lot of trouble at lambing time. The stud Southdown owe hoggets were shorn earlier than usual this season because of some trouble having been experienced with ewes becoming east.
