At first there wa s a heavy demand for sugar by people laying in stocks to carry them over a period during which there was likely to lie a limit on the amount of sugar sold over the counter.

Sudden Death. - The death 'occurred suddenly of an elderly native, H. Hcrewini, aged about 60 years, who was found! dead in his hut between Whitikau and Alotu.
