Short Notice Auction Sale. Particulars are advertised on page 1 of an auction sale to be held on Friday next (Dee 1 . 15). on account of Mr. H. .Howland, at the Bank of New Zealand, commencing at 12.’30 p.m. sharp. Temperatures. North Island temperatures at 0 o’ dock yesterday morning were as follows;—Opotiki 08 degrees. Tanranga 05, .Napier and Auckland 02. Gisborne 01, Wellington 53. Notifiable Disease. Fight cases of notifiable disease were reported in the East Gape health district for tin; two weeks ended at noon on Monday. Jn the week just past one ease of oerebro-spinnl meningitis, two of tuberculosis' and one of hydatids were reported. During the •preceding week there were two eases of tuberculosis, one of erysipelas and one of puerperal fever. One death from tuberculosis was reported in that period.'
