Delivery of Coast Papers. ■ A resident of the Coast who visited the News office recently, spoke in glowing terms of the excellent manner in which Messrs. .Drake .Bros, deliver newspapers to> residents in these parts. The delivery of newspapers to country residents is no easy task hut Coast residents are particularly fortunate. Patriotic Committee. A meeting of Bay of Plenty Zone G of the .Patriotic Council will be held at Taurangii shortly and the Opotiki committee will be represented bv the Mayor, Mr. G. S. Moody and by Mr. (;. \V. Button. An important general meeting of the Opotiki committee uill be held in the Mission Hall next Tuesday night at 8 o’clock. Members are especially asked to. attend. Athletic- Sports. Ait error occurred in the report ol the sports meeting in Wednesday’s issue of the News, when reference was made to the non-appearance of Waimana competitors. Actually the report should have referred to the lack of support of local competitors to encourage' Waimana competitors who travel so far to attend the Opotiki meeting.
