enthusiastic work.bus Members of the Comforts Coiumilteo of the Opotiki brane.li of the Red Cross are working enthusiastically, and atthe November meeting there was a splendid display of beautifully-made garments. The total number of garuients so far (most of which are completed) is as follows: —30 pairs pyj a ins', s. 23 flannel shirts, 14. flannel hospital bedjackeis, 2 pair hospital bedsock*. 0 pairs sock.s, ~j jjialachna helmets. I child’s petticoats i't'oni oddments. A large quantity of linen, the result of the “linen dlrive”, was gratefully acknowledged and members arc busy making bandages, which will be sterilized and stored in the emergency cupboa rd. The committee decided to send a small Christmas parcel to each Opotiki boy who has gone to camp, and invite the public who would like to contribute to these parcels to send gifts of Christmas fare, smokes, or sweets to Mrs. Quirk or Mr. J. D. Clark before December Bth. The next) meeting will bo bold in the Parish Hall on Thursday, Dccemher l4th. at 2 p.m.
