MEETING AT OTARA Tin* monthly meeting of the Otara Women’s Institute \va,s held at- the residence ct Miss Neilson on Tuesday, November 7. After the usual business, ; i most interesting talk on living condition;, in America was given by Miss Webb. This was followed by a demonstration of patch-work quilting, a very beautiful quilt being exhibited. This ;1 |,;,» u -as given by Miss Webb, to whom a hearty volte of thanks was accorded. The competitions were as follows: Three best roses: Miss Harrison 1, Miss Neil son 2. Three new potatoes; Mrs. Janies . >Young 1, Mrs. McCallion 2. Three scones: Mrs. Bingham 1. Miss Wilson 2. Head cabbage: Mrs. Bingham 1, ». siiss Harrison 2. The hostesses for the afternoon were til's. Manbv, Mrs. James Young and' M rs. I?. Black. \ vote of thanks f.o Miss Wilson for ■ C use of her iome, followed by sing■m<f () £ t he National Anthem brought iii-' afternoon to a close.
