MONTHLY STOCK SALE DAIRY CHAVS BRING GOUJ) PRICES The New Zealand Loan andi Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd. report as follows - AVe had a full yarding of cattle and fair entry of sheep. The dairy herd, sold on account of Mrs. A. Powell met. with keen competition. All the cows were in milk and made an average ot £lO 7s, top price being £l3. Entry of beef showed an improvement on past sales and price was firm at late rates . Sheep -offered sold well. Prices received were :—Sheep : 2-tli ewes in wool, £1 4s; 4-th wethers,. £l 4-s; fat 4-tli. wethers, shorn, 21s 3d; ewes with 100 per. cent, lambs. 12s 7d all counted]. Good dairy cows, in milk, £9 to £l3; in-calf Jersey heifers, £5 to £7 os; Jersey herd bulls, £G to £9' os.
Fat cows, £6 15s toi £9 10s; killable cows, £4 10s to £5 10s; good store cows, £3 os to £4 7s fid; boner cows. 15s to £2 ss; 18-month steers, poor condit-io-n, to £4 os; better condition, to £6; cows with calves, to £3 los: boner bulls, heavyweight, to £6 10s; lighter, £2 10s to £3 5.5; yearling Jersey heifers, to £4 7s 6d. FORTNIGHTLY PIG SALE Messrs. Dalgety and Company Ltd. report- as follows on the fortnightly pig sale held in the Opotiki saleyards* on Monday:— An average yarding of all classes of pigs came forward. Prices for baconers remained on a par with the. previous sale but the .store and porker, prices showed a retrograde movement. Prime heavy baconers made to £'3 I3<medium baconers, £3 3s to £3 8s: light baconers, £2 17s to £3 2s; porkers, best heavyweight, to £2 6s; others, 37s to £2 os ; large stores, to £‘- 4s; others, 30s to 365; slips. 24s t» 265; weaners. 10s to :9s 6d.
