TO THE EDITOR

HOSPITAL AFFAIRS Sir, —‘Notwithstanding Mr. Baigent-* s recent letter showing evidence of frantic wriggling to evade -replying to the vital point raised in previous correspondence, I do not propose to let him get away with it. At last ordinary meeting of .the Hospital Board, Mr. Baigept claimed the privilege of British justice and fair play and persisted in being hoard. 1 questioned the inconsistency of his logic in refusing the same justice and fair play to one of the executive heads when pressure was brought to bear by certain members of the Board of which lie was one, to force a resignation without any reason being given and without extending to that verson the same Britisher’s right that- he claimed. 1 appealed to Mr. Baigent’s better nature to right a- very definite wrong, believing that lie was big-mind-ed enough to rise to the occasion and obviate grave injustice being done. Mr. Baigent has so far carefully side-step-ped the issue and has introduced extraneous and iusinuative matter instead. If Mr. Baigent persists in smoke screen proclivities one can only assume that he is not prepared to measure up to the standard of British justice and fair play which lie previously so strongly advocated. 1 note that Mr. Baigent lias made observations concerning the last audited Balance Sheet- oil the Board. Although 1 have no official connection with the Board now 1 am prepared to give the Board the benefit of my experience in an advisory capacity and shall bo most- happy to attend a meeting of the Board, should an invitation be 'extended to me, and' endeavour to enlighten those members and others who like Mr. Baigent, may have difficulty in assimilating financial statements. J. T. MERRY.
