HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY

MONTHLY MEETING Despite the very had weather during the afternoon, the monthly lecture and display evening held by the Opotiki and District Horticultural Society last week, drew quite a good attendance. There was a very good display of flowers, while a number vases and bowls on exhibition only, drew very favourable comment, particularly the howls of tulips. A very interesting and instructive address on grafting was given by Mr. Dunlop, who received a warm \otc ol thanks tor his lecture. The prize for the special class, bowl of poppies, was won by Mrs. Parkinsun, while Mrs. Baird took first place for flic most outstanding exhibit.
