WEDDING
PARKINSON—WOLFE A very quiet but pretty wedding was solemnised at St. Stephen’s Church when Gwendoline Lilian, younger daughter of Mrs. J. Wolfe and the late Mr. J,. W. W olio, formerly of Napier;, was united in holy-bonds of matrimony to Herbert Joseph, eldest soil of Mr. ahd Mrs. B. Parkinson, of Opotiki. The Rev. G. G. Salt officiated at tho service, and Mrs. J. Williams presided at the organ. The bride entered the church on the arm of her brother-in-law, Air. R. H. Banner. Taneatua, attired in a lovely gown of White brocaded satin angel skin, cut 'on slim fitting line's with fully gored sldrt falling inti) a graceful train. Tho. neckline was of heartshaped design with a shirred bodice. Tilly covered buttons down the hack provided a neat finish. Her long embroidered tulle veil was caught to the head with a halo of orange .blossom. ■She carried, a sheath of miniature white arum iHies and hyacinth mingled with maiden-liair fern. < Mrs. R. H. Banner, Taneatua, sister of the bride,• acted as matron ol honour. She wort* a frock ol scarlet and white hand-painted ninon. with tiny red veivet bows down the front of the ■bodice. Small pulled sleeves stud a wide Haring skirt, together with scarlet cellophane straw hat, scarlet shoes, and a sheath of scarlet tulips completed her attire. The duties of best man were ably carried out by Mr. B. J. Roberts, Opotiki. The wedding reception was held at the residence of Air, and Airs. J. E l . Shaw. The tables were daintily and tastefully decorated with scarlet gerberas and gold nquilegiii. , Mrs. Wolfe received her guests wearing a model gown of violet floral georgette and nceessories'~to tone. Her dainty posy was of violet shaded stock and anemones *with a sprinkling, of maiden liair fern. Mrs. B. Parkinson, mother of tho bridegroom, wore a charming blue frock with accessories to tone and carried a posy of pink babiana and maiden hair fern. After the reception a musical evening was" held, attended by friends and guests.’ Among those present were: — - Mrs. K. Cairns (Rotorua). Mr. and Airs. J. Shaw, Air. and) Allrs. J. Ball,. Mr. and Airs. A. W. Turner, Air. and Airs. J. Hughes. Air. and Airs. G. Bvsaght. Airs. Banner. Airs. E. M. Young, Airs. AI. Ranapia, Airs. J. Williams, Miss AI. Parkinson, Miss E. Wilson, Aiiss T. Parkinson, Aiiss J. McNeil, Aiiss P. Parkinson and Airs. B. Parkinson; Air. I). Burton, Air. 13. Jolly, Air. R. Hall, Mr. J. Alexander, Mr. G. Bang. Air. N. Handricks, Alastor Bruce and David Banner, Master Basil and Eddy Parkinson. Later in the evening Air. and Mrs. H. Parkinson left for their honeymoon, Airs. Parkinson choosing as her travelling attire, an attractive and smartly cut suit and hat of London tan with bottle green accessories.
