OPOTIKI WAR. VIGILANCE; ASSN.

LOCAL FIND WANTED A meeting of the executive of the Opotiki War Vigilance Association, at which there was a full attendance of delegates, was held last week. Air. J. B. Cow was elected chairman. .Mr. L. A. O. Davies was elected lion, secretary and Mr. T; Steele lion, treasurer. it was unanimously resolved to appoint Rev. Hampton and Capt. Kirkpatrick to the executive :]s representative of their respective churches, Rev.. G. G. Salt, Rev. A. Attwood and Father Brady being already members of the . executive. It was also decided to set up a social committee with Mr. K*. W. Seville as convener; the duties of the committee being to arrange for the running, of functions to raise funds tor the association. It was resolved to invite the assistance of the member for the district,. Sir. A. G. Hultquist. to make representations to the Minister of Internal Affairs to ensure that the association he fully, authorised to collect, hold! and in due course administer a fund which is hoped will he built- up. Membership of Association. —It was resolved that the general public be invited to become members of the Association and that the - membership fee be 2/6. For this purpose the .members of the executive are to be issued with receipt books; and authorised to enrol members. (It is. ielt thatthe public will welcome this opportunity to assist the association.) Records of Men and Women Enlisting from the District.—A system for the collecting and compilation of the personal record's of those enlisting is. to he instituted. In fact, the records, to date, of those men already in camp, have been collected. At an early date the hon. secretary will be in the position to publish a full list of names of the executive and members of the various sub-commit-tees.
