Of the 15 games played, five, were draws and in the remainder the scores were'generally close. The local boys acquitted themselves well ; the forwards being the best pack in the competition. Lack of experience in match play was a deciding factor against the team, and practically all the points scored against the team was due to Jack of knowledge in the art of covering up quickly when the ball was;kicked! through. However, the whole team played with a linespirit. and keenness and their team work improved greatly as the competition progressed. The following are detailed results:— Against Putaruru—draw, no score. Against Tauranga—lost, 11—3. Against Alatamata.—won, 9 —6. Against Rotorua—draw, '3 —3. Against AVhakatane —lost, B—3.
