OPOTIKI BAND RE-FORMED
CREAT KEENNESS SHOWN EARLY HR ACT.LCES A meeting was held in the bandroom on Friday night in connection with the suggestion that the band should he reformed. Several apologies for absence were received. The minutes of the previous meeting were read by Mr. T. G. Johnson, and were confirmed. Nineteen names were handed :n for band membership. On the motion of Mr. W. Barkinson it was unanimously decided that the Opotiki band lie re-formed. Mr. I\ J. Palmer ottered to. give his services as bandmaster and stressed the need of wholehearted support by band members. -Mr. N. Elliott was appointed secretary and Mr. V. Shalloon librarian. -Mr. Johnson gave a brief history- of the band from tlie tiifie' Mr. W. Stevens took over as bandmaster. The question of a name for' the hand was discussed briefly aiul it- was finally decided to let this .matter stand over for future discussion. Tho subscription was fixed at 2/G monthly.- : It was - decided to. hold practices on Tuesday and 'Thursday nights at 7.30 o'clock. ...
