THE ANNUAL REPORT AHEIETING AT WHAKATANE The president, Mrs. C. Caisley, presented the following annual report at the meeting of the Plunket (society, held at Whakatane recently:— 1 have pleasure in presenting the report for the year 1938-89. The health of the babies has been satisfactory, and we congratulate Nurse Stracban on her care and attention of those who have been in her charge. During the year we received half the nett profits of the .Reveille staged by Air. Lints, £35. Included in that'sum £l9 16s was received from the business people for advertising in the programme. We are grateful to ' the members who helped with the street collection which amounted to £l6 17s. The business people who advertised were not approached that day. We also thank the Borough Council for their donation of £o os. The County Council for their donation of £2 2s. The various motor companies for the free transport for Nurse. The members of the Society, • also citizens for their generous support. With Mesdames Southey, Dawson, and .LVarse, 1 attended the Opotiki sub-branch annual meeting. They are in' a sound position and looking forward to having nurse each week as soon as that can be arranged. We attended Rotorua sub-branch annual meeting. They are hoping to have their own nurse in August. We attended the Taneatua subbranch annual meeting. They are improving and will be pleased to have nurse twice monthly. No doubt that will be possible after August. 1 sincerely thank. Airs. Southey for taking us to these sub-braiich meetings. The Rangitaiki 'District Sub-Branch was formed on October 27tl>. last. Unfortunately we could not attend their subbranch annual meeting. They have progressed wonderfully and their finances are in a soundl state. The transport problem is indeed difficult.
