MEETING AT TE KAMA The Tc Kalia Women’s institute, held their monthly meeting in the Gallipoli Hall on Saturday afternoon at 1.30 p.m. Alembcrs seemed to have used the extra week due toi postpone'] nenb of the meeting to induce their winter vegetables to put forth tlieir best efforts. Mrs. Breiugau won the prize for a home-grown salad, showing nine varieties of vegetables; while Airs. Saunders, the runner-up, had seven. All entries were marked by attention to artistic arrangement in ser\ iug. A great deal of time was spent over ' correspondence and discussion of business. it was decided that consideration of the pamphlet concerning the ' Women's World; Congress for Peace and Liberty be held in Cuba next October, should be held over till more time and thought could be given to it. The .members were grateful to Airs. Brown for her demonstration of pawa shell work, but there was too little time to appreciate by trial, the amount of skill demanded by; the, craft. The Roll Calh was “An Old W ife’s Tale’’. The “cup of tea” provided bv the president. Airs. Tom Pratt, was received with the accustomed enthusiasm and appreciation. The singing of the National Anthem in Aiaori brought a busy afternoon to a close.
